Mitsubishi Vehicles in South Africa
The heritage of Mitsubishi vehicles in South Africa is one that goes back 40 years – and is a brand synonymous locally with reliability, innovation and a strong tie-in to motorsport. The rugged and reliable Mitsubishi Colt built up a proud heritage in South Africa when it was marketed here from 1995, and continues to serve thousands of owners reliably and have become a household legend. Although the Colt name has since been replaced by the Triton, the same principles which made the Colt bakkie a South African institution and pioneer of the Club-Cab nomenclature, is still very much alive in the new range of Mitsubishi Triton bakkies. The Mitsubishi Pajero follows a similar cult status in South Africa amongst 4×4 and off-road aficionados, by offering supreme luxury combined with a go-anywhere capability and backed by state of the art technology, both inside and out. The Mitsubishi Mirage, Mitsubishi’s newest and smallest offering in the range, although associated with a brand synonymous with the outdoors, 4×4 and of course Paris/Dakar, the Mirage is neither a 4×4 nor capable of entering the Paris/Dakar, but is rather a small, stylish and compact hatchback offering generous specification and fuel consumption. Mitsubishi vehicles continue to be a firm favourite for South Africans to this day with the heritage strongly growing and expanding.
